Q & A
To get to know more about Brooklyn we asked her the following interview questions;
What inspires you?
A: “What inspires me the most is seeing other recovering addicts get clean and turn their lives around. Getting clean and staying that way was one of the toughest things I’ve personally faced in my life – I have mad respect for the people that do it.
Another thing that inspires me is seeing people pursue what they are passionate about. I’m sure that everyone in this world would love to do things with their lives or become something, but seeing the few that actually do it is inspiring to me! Chase yo' dreams ya’ll”
What is a struggle in life you have faced and overcame?
A: “Like I mentioned before, I am a recovering addict, if you know someone that is also recovering, you might know/understand it will always be a part of who you are. Although, I may never completely overcome it, today I don’t let it define who I am as a person. I have learned healthy ways to cope with it and become the woman I believe God created me to be.
My recovery has not been perfect, but I am proud to say that today I am a functioning member of society and the mother that my babies deserve me to be.
If anyone is struggling out there, I would love more than anything to help them reach their sobriety. If it wasn’t for the people helping me to become the woman I am today I don’t believe I would have made it this far. I believe you keep what you have by giving it away.”
What is something funny that has happened to you recently?
A: “Last week I overslept and was late to work. When I got to work my boss stopped me and I thought I was in trouble. Then, she said I had one of Ellie’s teething crackers stuck in my hair lol - One of the pluses of motherhood”
